Cozy, Fun Holiday Doings!

We created the "most beautiful ever" gingerbread house at last night's Creativity Central - and that was by unanimous vote of all of us!  Powered by Kathleen's homemade pumpkin bread and coffee, we had lots of fun.  Our unique gingerbread house features a target runway for Santa, the bling-iest "Ho Ho!" and loads of color!  Here are some photos!

The Blingiest "Ho Ho!" thanks to the genius of Allyson!

A clear birds-eye view of Santa's landing pad - see the dots on the roof and the gold star on the chimney top?  Santa can't miss that!  It's hard to see in this photo, but the gold star has a big "S" monogram inside it, just so Santa knows that chimney entrance is for him :)

Clear birds-eye view of the "S" in the chimney's gold star - Santa's bullseye so he knows where to go!
Paint on the hands - the 'mark' of a true arteest!

Our Proud Results - which we proclaim the most beautiful gingerbread house EVER!

Inspiring Escapes

Here are some lovely photos from our October Creativity Central, where we worked more on our dioramas and shared some of our past projects.  Each diorama represents a secret haven for each participant, that we can visit just by opening the box!  First we did a Q&A to help define what our respective "haven" might be, and then we created them in 3D!  Here are the amazing results:

Allyson hard at work on her diorama!

See the luscious folds of the scarf that Allyson wove herself, that make up the sea floor along the bottom of Allyson's box.  See also the lace she made herself, that has become the "contrail" of the gold airplane. The airplane you see soaring inside is gold foil wrapped around the clay plane that Allyson made by hand last time. On the left side of Allyson's diorama are secret wooden Japanese letters with special meaning. Allyson wanted her diorama to show movement, and it sure does!
Congratulations Allyson!  Well done!

Last Night's Creativity Central a Blast-Off!

Last night we had creative fun brainstorming for our diaramas and making 3D sculptures - between us we made an airplane, matillija poppy, two trees, ballet slippers, coffe mug, and much more.  Here are some pictures:

August Creativity Central "Constructive!"

We started working on wire sculptures, covered in clay, and had a great, very "in the moment" time:

Here are some more pictures from this very "constructive" Creativity Central, showing how a wire couch metal frame was being made:
Visualizing and creating in 3 dimensions takes a lot of concentration!

July 23 Creativity Central in Full Harmony!

Many many thanks to the great Dr. Kafka for sharing his joy, creativity and music with us - not only did we make lovely things during this Creativity Central inspired by Dr. Kafka's music, but we got to write a song with Dr. Kafka!

Here are some photos from the event:
Dr. Kafka gave us such a happy time!
So much talent!

Speaking of talent - Allyson brought some of the gorgeous scarves she makes!  Wow!

Allyson's fun, colorful work at our Creativity Central session

A fun, fun moment!

Nicole brought the multimedia canvas the group had worked on the past, to share the beautiful results of our teamwork!
Kathleen's beautiful work!

Happy creative comraderie!

A cosy creative moment - see the chocolate chip cookies Kathleen made!  YUM!!!  Can't complain about edible creativity!

Such a nice time!  THANK YOU DR. KAFKA!

The yellow paper in front of Dr. Kafka has the lyrics we wrote as we sang - somehow Dr. Kafka miraculously turns everything into a great song - and he remembers the tune he creates on the moment - AMAZING!

Another cosy creative moment.

HOW FUN!!!!  Many thanks to Dr. Kafka for this true creative adventure and inspiration!
